A shame. My name is Maxime.
I had a terrible issue with Cathay Pacific (I took more than 15 tickets with them in the past 2 years as i am hong kong resident).
I took 2 economic tickets for a Paris-HK in February 2017 (19th to 23rd) with my father. I had a personal family issue and called them on 20th to ask them if i could rebook my return economic ticket on 21 February. I was told about 200 euros rebooking fees by ticket. I said OK to the agent by phone and gave my credit card number. I just figured out 2 days ago that I have been debited of 9.500 euros (almost 80.000 hkd) of rebooking fees! A shame. I tried to call them but no answer they asked me to write to the customer service.
I am now told that the agent told me about the price (9.500 €!) by phone and I said ok... How could I say ok to pay 10 times the original ticket to rebook an economic ticket ? No one warned me.
They don't want to send me the voice record (I remembered that i asked confirmation to the agent (I though he was speaking about 400 USD in total) his accent and my English are certainly not perfect... But I couldn't be agree with this amount and the agent never told me clearly about this amount... In one word... It is a shame. Not the first time I hear about this kind of story.
If you flight with them, be sure not to have to rebook your tickets because you may have this kind of problem. I can not sleep for days because of this story.
